Dr. Patrick L. Holden is a son of a career soldier formerly stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland. He received his Bachelor of Science degree (summa cum laude) in Animal Science from the University of Maryland College Park. Dr. Holden is a graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation, he worked in private practice in Virginia and Maryland prior to opening Severn Square Veterinary Hospital in Severn. The hospital has served the greater Fort Meade community including adjacent Anne Arundel and Howard counties for over 29 years.

Dr. Holden has been in clinical practice for 34 years. He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Maryland Veterinary Medical Association, and the District of Columbia Academy of Veterinary Medicine. His special interests include cardiology, internal medicine, soft tissue surgery, and orthopedic surgery. He treats a variety of species including dogs, cats, ferrets, pocket pets, and reptiles. His practice philosophy is to emphasize the best individualized care possible for his patients who are truly family members. His hospital staff recognizes and emphasizes the human-animal bond-whether the pet is a Great Dane or a hamster.
